Absolutely! Our snow-covered mountains offer the perfect path for everyone. We regularly organize guided winter walks and snowshoe tours of varying degrees of difficulty—ranging from gentle, scenic strolls through the valley to breathtaking panoramic tours in higher alpine terrain. Our guide always tailors the route and pace to the comfort of the group.
What are the difficulty levels of the guided hikes?
Our guided hikes have different levels of difficulty – from easy family walks (for example, along the Höhenweg to Hofgastein) to alpine hikes in the fascinating mountain world of the Gastein Valley.
Are walking sticks available to borrow free of charge?
Guests can borrow walking sticks free of charge from reception.
Does Haus Hirt offer snowshoe equipment for hire?
Yes, we certainly do! To help you experience the magic of our untouched winter wonderland, we provide snowshoe equipment completely free of charge right here at the hotel. Your perfect pair is waiting for you!
Do parents have to register their children for ski school themselves?
Parents should register their children in advance at the ski school. Spontaneous registration may still be possible on site (registration form available at reception). The Angerer Ski School holds an information evening every Sunday at 6 p.m. during the winter season.
Can we ski together with our kids after ski school?
We love sending kids to ski school in Dorfgastein, thanks to our long-standing, trusted partnership there. Our free ski shuttle, however, only runs to Bad Gastein. Without a car, we recommend enrolling your kids in the ski school in Bad Gastein instead, so you’re together on the slopes. With a car, you can also drive to Angertal in Dorfgastein, enrol them there, and ski together in that area.
Do you have sledges for children available at the hotel?
Of course! For the ultimate winter fun with the family, we offer children’s sledges to rent free of charge. Just grab one from the hotel and head straight out into the snow!
What is the best way to get from the hotel to the ski slopes?
It couldn’t be easier or more convenient: our free ski shuttle runs every 15 minutes, picking you up right from the hotel and dropping you off directly at the ski lift. You can leave your car parked and simply enjoy a stress-free ride to the slopes!
Do you offer any special activities for an energetic morning refresh?
For the brave and wellness enthusiasts, we have a truly exhilarating ritual: join our guide for a morning cold plunge in the nearby mountain river stream. It is an incredibly invigorating experience that boosts your circulation and perfectly awakens body and mind for a beautiful day in the mountains!
Where can you dry your shoes?
There are boot warmers in the lockers. But you can also dry them in the ski cellar on the 3rd floor or in the drying room.
