CLAUDIA HITZENBERGER

Dancer, choreographer, yoga teacher since 1993, certified Spiraldynamik® Intermediate practitioner, one son.

For me, a well-rounded class structure is an important foundation. Each session is guided by a theme that may relate to anatomical subtleties or philosophical background. At the beginning and at the end, there is usually audible breathing, toning, or a mantra. In between, during active practice, dynamic elements alternate with calm phases. The breath, as a constant companion, leads practitioners deeper into the postures (asanas), which are performed with great precision in the form of sun salutations (Surya Namaskar A/B) and longer-held positions.

For me, practising yoga is a remembrance of the aliveness of being in all its diversity. I sincerely thank all of my teachers from the bottom of my heart.

My yoga studies are rooted in the teachings of Tirumalai Krishnamacharya and the three main traditions that emerged from them: Ashtanga Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, and the yoga of T. K. V. Desikachar.

Through my dance training, 15 years of dance experience, and many years of teaching yoga, I have come to understand the body on many levels and therefore I’m able to respond well to the individual needs of my students.
